About Actuarial Risk Solutions
Independent expertise. Global collaboration.
Technical depth. Commercial understanding
Actuarial Risk Solutions is an independent advisory firm providing specialized actuarial, reinsurance, financial and risk management services to insurers and reinsurers.
Our work spans insurance operations and financial reporting, capital optimization, structured risk transfer and complex insurance transactions. We combine technical expertise with financial and strategic perspectives to address challenges extending beyond conventional actuarial consulting.
Specialist expertise across borders
ARS works with an international network of professionals in actuarial science, insurance, reinsurance, finance, investment management and capital markets, engaged as each assignment requires and directed by ARS. Our relationships also include professionals with regulatory expertise and experience across multiple jurisdictions.
From analysis to execution
We begin with each client’s financial, commercial and risk management objectives. We develop and evaluate alternatives, assess their financial and regulatory implications and support implementation where appropriate. Engagements range from focused independent reviews to multidisciplinary assignments involving transaction development, negotiation and execution.
Clear terms. Senior accountability
When an outside advisor is brought into a decision of this weight, executives want to know who is accountable, how the work is scoped and on what terms. Our engagements are structured to make each of these clear from the outset.
Senior-led
Every ARS engagement is led by a senior principal who is accountable for the quality of the work. You will know from the first conversation which principal is accountable. Where an assignment calls for specialist skills, ARS brings in professionals from its network under ARS’s direction and quality review, so the client has a single point of accountability.
Independent by design
ARS does not sell reinsurance capacity, investment products or software. Fees are agreed in writing before work begins and are not contingent on whether a transaction proceeds.
How we work together
Initial conversation. A confidential discussion of the question, the context and the timing, with no obligation. We acknowledge inquiries within one business day and aim to respond substantively within two business days.
Scope and proposal. A written proposal setting out the questions to be answered, deliverables, timetable, team and fee basis.
Analysis and delivery. Regular progress discussions, and findings presented in the form your audience needs, whether the board, the regulator, auditors or counterparties.
Implementation support. Where wanted, continued support through negotiation, execution and handover, so that the advice is carried through to the outcome.
Typical engagements
Focused independent reviews and opinions typically take 4–8 weeks. Transaction and structuring support typically runs 6–9 months, depending on counterparties and approvals. Ongoing advisory support is available on retainer terms.
Confidentiality and conflicts
Initial conversations are confidential, and we are glad to sign a non-disclosure agreement before any information is shared. Before accepting an assignment we review potential conflicts and will tell you promptly if one arises. Client data is handled under strict data protection and security arrangements.
Professional standards
Work is led and signed off by credentialed actuaries and performed in accordance with applicable actuarial professional standards of practice and codes of conduct.
